London Bus in Bangkok June 15th 2012

A little bit of Britishness...

A sudden urge to explore the other side and since that bridge has stared me in the face every day for 2 weeks, and  4 weeks in March, then its high time I made the effort to cross over into the urban abyss. Its the bridge linking Khao San area with the Bangkok populous in the West, very busy with traffic, often at a standstill. Thankfully, pedestrians are catered for and its easy to walk across, stop for photos an admire the skyline before the fumes become all too much. About 50 yards further on, on the left is a compound housing a collection of vintage cars and 2 British registered bus's. Looks like a private collection, but the chap polishing away, and the dogs, didn't seem to mind me having a look, snapping a few photos.

Further along, on a left hand side street is a somewhat dilapidated religious building, but interesting in that its a distinct type of architecture that I haven't seen before now. And even more surprising is a collection of turtles resting under a shed on stilts - taking a breather from the nearby grubby canal no-doubt!

A few pictures then from the otherside of the river..
