Little Adams peak Again..
Waking up, not to the sound of lashing rain, but a dawn chorus of crickets, various exotic sounding bird songs and crows! A peak outside reveals a brightness unseen in recent times, actually it's a clear blue sky! After 3 days most tourists have moved on, usually towards the beaches and parks of the southern coast. I'm still here though with something in the subconscious saying stick around for a bit.
Little Adams Peak again and under the clear skies, this time I should see some spectacular if not stunning, scenery. Up past the little shack I sheltered in a few days ago, and onwards to the top. Taking a rest on that helicopter landing pad for a few minutes - good day to bring a helicopter up here!
On top of the world, again! This time with a view -a breathtakingly stunning 360 degree panorama. It's the view I had been waiting for, the view of Sri Lanka's beauty. It's pretty cool though as the white flag marking the summit flaps in the strong wind. A couple of hours just taking it all in, watching nature float on by and looking at locals chopping down branches and gathering straw from the steep valley side.
Back to base for an afternoon nap after this little excursion. I've spotted a few old British cars around the place including this old Morris - minus a wheel parked up on the roadside.
